Effortless Apple and Cardamom Crumble
Invented by the British as a simpler and less extravagant alternative to the apple pie, the humble crumble is for Swedes also a classic.
In this simple recipe, you don’t need to make the crumble dough, but the butter is simply shaved on top of the other ingredients. The result is a crumble with a heavenly caramelised consistency, which is as good served cold as hot. In the Swedish way, serve it with a generous dollop of vanilla whipped cream.

Tips:
Use a cheese slicer (ostehøvel) for the butter!
I use this Norwegian invention for slicing my hard cheese and as a frying turner or cake slicer.
So versatile, I could not live without it.
